ABOUT SUPER A LEAGUE

Super A Mornington Peninsula is an exciting new league formed through the collaboration of three neighbouring basketball associations:

Southern Peninsula Basketball Association
Mornington Basketball Association
Western Port Basketball Association

The three stars in our logo proudly represent the unity and shared vision of these associations coming together.

To begin, the league will run in Pilot Mode through the Southern Peninsula Basketball Association for an 8-week period before expanding across all three associations.

Who it’s for: U14 Boys & Girls teams seeking stronger weekly competition
Age eligibility: Players born 2013–2014 ONLY (U14 for this upcoming season)
Season length: 8 weeks including finals
Game day: U14 Girls Sunday approx. 5pm | U14 Boys Wednesday approx. 5–6pm
Venue: Dromana Secondary College (all games for pilot)

APPLICATIONS

Selection: Entries are assessed and selective to ensure the competition standard. Team line ups to remain as per application.
Notification: Successful teams advised by Friday 19 September.
Team sizes: Recommended 7–9 players

Season start: October 15th (8 weeks)

Timing: VC timing — 7-minute quarters, clock stops on all whistles
Team fouls: 5 per quarter → bonus
Shot clock: In use
Timeouts: 2 per half

Game fee: $95 over the counter or $90 via TeamPay
Registration: If applicable, per-player season reg (published at application)

STANDARDS & CONDUCT


Competitive standard: Teams must be capable of competing at high-level domestic.
Child Safety: Coaches/Team Managers must meet WWCC/child-safe requirements.
Codes of Conduct: BV & host-association codes apply to all players, coaches, and spectators.

Frequently Asked questions

U14 domestic CLUB TEAMS from the Mornington Peninsula and surrounding regions.

No. It’s a high-standard domestic league that sits between community domestic and VJBL. Teams are expected to be made up of multiple VJBL players or similar level players. There is no rep player rule or restriction.

On ability to compete at Super A level: recent domestic results, roster compostition, and coach credentials. Places are limited; not all team applicants will be accepted.

As the league is in a pilot phase. The finals format will be determined once we confirm accepted teams.

VC timing: 4×7 minute quarters, stop-clock on all whistles, shot clock, 5 team fouls per quarter to bonus. The full rules can be viewed in the by-laws.

$95 at venue or $90 via TeamPay (preferred). $10 per-player registration fee to be paid upon season registration.

Teams are required to provide two scorers for each game.
