Frequently Asked questions

The tournament is split into South, Central and North which helps teams plan if they require accomodation and ensures travel within the tournament is reduced.

U10 Girls teams will play across the North and Central sections
U10 Boys teams will play across the South and Central sections
U12 teams will play across the South and Central sections
U14 teams will play across the North and Central sections
U16 teams will play across the South and Central sections
U18 teams will play across the North and Central sections

Across any one day we would aim to have a team playing locally, at the same venue ideally or at least within the same section. However, the above guide helps teams to anticipate the area they will be playing which will help teams who need to book accomodation.

Once all teams are entered, we re-grade them according to their VJBL ranking – ensuring you are playing against the level of teams you will play in grading.

As a rough guide on where you should enter on your registration according to your VJBL ranking, see below:

Pool 1 = Championship
Pool 2 = higher teams – Championship | lower teams – Division 1
Pool 3/4 = Division 1/2
Pool 5/6 = Division 2/3
Pool 7/8 = Division 3/4
Pool 9/10 = Division 4/5
Pool 11+ = Division 6

If you are a team who does not play VJBL, please place them as best estimated and we will review as we grade.

**Note – the above is a guide and will vary depending on how many teams of each level enter.

Teams have the option to play on the Friday by selecting that they are available on the team entry.

We know this is not suitable for all teams in particular travelling teams and clubs with practice matches.

We ask that if you are available that you do select this in the entry.

Our Championship Division attracts the best teams in the state vying for a position in VC. This division typically consists of teams from the top 20 in the state.

Unfortunately we are not accepting entries from domestic teams for the representative tournament.

We have a domestic tournament which is held in July each year which is best suited for domestic teams.

Every team plays a minimum of four games across the tournament, plus a grand final if your team makes it.

Games are played from Rosebud through to Carrum Downs. Fixtures are completed to minimise travel across the weekend and to stay in the same area for your games.

Unfortunately each team will not know where they are playing until the fixture is released a week prior to the tournament.
