Annual General Meeting 2024

Southern Peninsula Basketball Association (SPBA) would like to advise all members of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Association on Thursday 24th October, 2024.

This meeting is being convened in accordance with the SPBA Constitution. All members under the Constitution are invited to attend.

The Ordinary Business of the AGM shall be:

  1. to confirm the minutes of the previous Annual General Meeting and of any General Meeting held since that meeting; and

  2. to receive from the Board reports upon the transactions of the Association during the last preceding financial year; and

  3. to elect the Directors of the Association; and

  1. to appoint an auditor for the forthcoming year; and

  2. to transact any other business of which notice in writing shall have been given to the Secretary of the Association at least seven (7) days prior to the date of the meeting.

Any business members wish to be tabled at the Annual General Meeting must be received by October 17th, 2024 at 6:30pm to gm@sthpen.com.au. You will receive a reply to confirm your correspondence has been received.

Board Nominations

Southern Peninsula Basketball Association (SPBA) seeks nominations from suitably experienced people for election to fill three Board Member positions for the Board of Management (BOM) at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on October 24th, 2024. 

In accordance with the SPBA Constitution, the voting members at SPBA AGMs are playing members, parent members and life members. NOTE: Temporary members and members under the age of 18 are not entitled to vote. 

Information 

  1. There are three (3) vacancies on the BOM in accordance with the rotation prescribed by the Constitution and vacant positions. 
  2. The SPBA BOM comprises seven (7) elected Board Members; and up to two (2) Board appointed members. 
  3. The Board Member incumbents whose terms expire at the 2024 AGM are all entitled to stand for re-election. 
  4. There are twelve Board Meetings per year held monthly on every last Monday of the month at Rosebud Stadium. 
  5. SPBA is committed to diversity and inclusion in all its business and activity areas and welcomes nominations from people that align with our Association Vision. 
  6. SPBA is committed to providing a safe environment for all members. Successful nominations will be required to provide/undertake checks as described in the attached document.

Instructions 

  1. Nominations for the above positions close on October 17th, 2024, at 7:00pm and should be submitted to gm@sthpen.com.au. A confirmation of receipt will be returned within 24 hours. If you do not receive a confirmation, please assume your nomination has not been received and re-send it. 
  2. Nominations should include: Board Member Nomination Form 
  3. A CV not exceeding 1 page, and/or 
  4. A cover letter not exceeding 1 page
  5. Nominees’ covering letters will be circulated to members prior to the AGM on October 24th, 2024. Applicants will be given the opportunity to make a two-minute presentation prior to voting.
