About Us
Formed in 1967, Southern Peninsula Basketball Association is one of the largest sporting organisations on the Mornington Peninsula, running basketball from Dromana through to Sorrento.
Who We Are
SPBA is a not for profit association built by Peninsula families, for Peninsula families. We provide a fun, safe and inclusive environment for all members of the community so that they enjoy lifelong participation in physical activity, from a first game in the Community Competition through to representative basketball and Big V.
Our Values
Five values that guide how we run the association and how we treat each other.
Respectful
We show admiration and consideration for the abilities, qualities, achievements and cultures of each other and the broader community.
Inclusive
We provide a program that involves all of our community, regardless of background or ability, in a culture that is fun, healthy and accessible.
Trustworthy
We operate with integrity, honesty and empathy, and a willingness to accept and support a cohesive team culture.
Enjoyment
We provide a positive environment that brings joy to the community within a social, safe and fun setting.
Excellence
We constantly look for ways to improve and inspire success, providing diverse opportunities and aspiring to the highest quality.
Who Plays Here
Teams and participants across every part of the association.
Our facilities. SPBA maintains four indoor facilities with seven courts, with the intention of growing to more than ten, catering for participants from Mornington to Sorrento.
Our Game Plan 2025
Our strategic plan sits on four objectives. As a not for profit, our purpose is to administer basketball across the Peninsula and give players, coaches, officials and administrators somewhere to develop.

Southern Peninsula Basketball Association is a child safe organisation with zero tolerance for child abuse and neglect. We operate in line with Basketball Victoria's Child Safeguarding Policy and Basketball Australia's National Integrity Framework.
All coaches and team managers working with junior teams hold a current Victorian Working with Children Check and a signed Statutory Declaration. If you have a concern about the safety or wellbeing of a child at any SPBA venue, speak to a staff member on duty or visit our child safety page.
